IBM Data Power Consultant- 14614

 

We are looking for only local to bay area candidates as On-Site interview is a must for this. Our client is one of largest retailers in the world.  Yet their IT department is nimble and dynamic and works with cutting edge technologies.  They are currently in need of an experienced consultant IBM DataPower Consultant to work as part of a team on multiple high visibility projects.  This position is a contract position and is at their Pleasanton, CA facility.

 

Qualifications:

 

·         4+ years professional experience in installation, configuration, administration and support of IBM DataPower and API Connect, including SSL/TLS, XSLT and Gateway Script (IBM DataPower certification desired)

·         Proven scripting experience in Shell, Perl, AWK, API, or Python is required.  Puppet is desired but not required

·         6+ years overall IT experience, with 4+ years of experience with infrastructure design or engineering using different integration applications

·         Must have 4+ years professional experience as a system engineer and/or administrator responsible for design, implementation, installation, configuration and 3rd level support

·         Strong networking knowledge

·         Knowledge and use of IBM WMB and MQ Configuration, Administration and Monitoring tools is desired

·         Strong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills are essential

·         Candidate must work well in a fast-paced, changing environment and can manage multiple projects, support, and initiatives all with different priorities at the same time.

·         Must demonstrate proven ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, and drive issues to resolution, individually and when leading a group to reach a conclusion

·         Candidate must be able to lead and influence others and drive collaborative work sessions.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Hands-on DataPower and API Connect engineering responsibilities (build, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, deployment, support, and performance tuning & optimization) and document the procedures/instructions for other team members to follow.

·         Identify opportunities and develop scripts to automate the engineering tasks where possible to minimize the manual work and to produce high quality and consistent work.

·         Diagnose, isolate and de-bug problems and performs problem resolution. Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts to help identify the solutions and determine next steps to address the issues

·         Plan and define systems software and/or hardware requirements/specifications and/or customizations.

·         Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported.
